Why does Odoo slow down?
A well-configured Odoo can serve hundreds of users quickly. Slowness usually comes not from the software itself but from installation and development choices. The most common causes we see:
- Production instances running in a single process without workers
- Missing database indexes on growing tables
- Inefficient custom modules and computed fields
- Many scheduled actions running at the same time
- Server resources that no longer match the workload
We measure first, then improve
Instead of guesswork, we use slow query logs, profiling tools and server metrics to find the real cause. We measure and report before and after every change.
Adding hardware is sometimes necessary, but configuration and code improvements usually deliver bigger gains at a much lower cost. If the problem is in a custom module, we fix it permanently together with our development team.
